Saying goodbye to the summer and the Head of the European Union Delegation to Russia
The communication agency R.I.M. Porter Novelli helped to organize the annual party for partners of the Press and Information Section of the European Union Delegation to Russia which was held on September 6 and this year coincided with the farewell ceremony for the sitting ambassador, Vygaudas Ušackas.
The event traditionally attracts representatives of the Russian leading and foreign accredited media, such as Kommersant, Vedomosti, Gazeta.ru, Izvestiya, Interfax, Ekho Moskvy, BBC, Suddeutsche Zeitung, Financial Times, NY Times, European diplomats, heads of cultural centres and institutes and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In his valedictory speech Vygaudas Ušackas pointed out that during these four years relations between Russia and the EU had seen both peaks and valleys but in his daily work he had done his best to maintain the balance. During this time he had given hundreds of interviews and comments about pressing issues of relations between our countries.
The post of the new ambassador of the European Union in Russia will be occupied by the sitting State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, Markus Ederer. He had been working in Russia from 1990 to 1993 as an economic affairs officer in the German embassy.
The agency R.I.M. Porter Novelli has been providing comprehensive PR support to the EU Delegation to Russia since 2006.
